Pirates of the Caribbean has been a huge success for Disney, catapulting the scant details of a theme park ride into a multi-billion dollar film franchise and adding Captain Jack Sparrow to the pantheon of great film characters.

Despite the law of diminishing returns taking its toll on the crew of the Black Pearl Disney have faith that another trilogy is on the horizon, and the forth film has it's subtitle: On Stranger Tides. Click on the image above to see the full picture.

No other details have been released except the news that a 2010 shoot will line up the release date of Summer 2011 - seems a long time to wait. The question remains if the Pirates films have the sea legs for yet another three films. I guess we'll find out in two year's time.
